The India-UK Vision 2035 Document is a strategic blueprint and a long-term vision document that defines the future trajectory of the bilateral relationship between India and the United Kingdom. It is an agreement endorsed by the Prime Ministers of both nations in London on July 24, 2025, to build a more robust and diversified partnership. The document was created to provide a time-bound and structured pathway for cooperation, effectively replacing the previous Roadmap 2030.
The Vision works by setting clear strategic goals and milestones across five core pillars, which form the BRISK partnership: Business, Research, Innovation, Science and technology, and Knowledge. A central mechanism is the newly signed Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), which aims to substantially enhance bilateral trade and investment. Key provisions include a 10-year Defence Industrial Roadmap with co-development projects like Jet Engine Advanced Core Technologies (JEACT), and the Technology Security Initiative focusing on AI, semiconductors, and cybersecurity. Furthermore, it promotes the establishment of UK university campuses in India and the operationalization of the Mutual Recognition of Qualifications Agreement. The Vision connects to the existing Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and its implementation is monitored through annual reviews conducted by India's External Affairs Minister and the UK's Foreign Secretary.
